Johns Islanders organize to restrain waterline construction

Tom Wise who covers Johns Island

Johns Island residents, with the support of the Coastal Conservation League, have started a website to promote our petition to force St. Johns Water Company to call for a vote on whether or not to continue with plans for a proposed 30 inch waterline on Johns Island. (For more details on the waterline and why many Johns Island residents are opposed to it, see my July 28 posting to CharlestonWatch.com.)

Our new website is located at www.stopthewaterline.com, or clickhere

If you are a member of the St. Johns Water Company and have not signed our petition, please go to the website and download the petition pdf, and sign and return it to Megan Terebus, at the Coastal Conservation League. Instructions are included in the pdf.

We are working hard to keep Johns Island rural, and we appreciate your support.
